This year also our Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 2017 and Montefalco Rosso DOC 2019 have been evaluated and reviewed by Falstaff and included in their 2022 guide.

For the uninitiated, Falstaff, a wine magazine founded in Austria in 1980, is now the most famous German-language publishing house in Europe.
Each year, thanks to its publications and authoritative guides dedicated to food, entertainment and travel, it sells more than 150,000 copies.

Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG 2017 – 92 points

Dunkles Rubinviolett. In der Nase nach dunklem Leder, Siegellack, Minze, Brombeeren, im Nachhall feine erdige Nuancen. Am Gaumen mit eng gewobenem Tannin und elegantem Verlauf, spannt sich herzhaft über die Zunge, endet mit feinen frischen Tönen und minimaler Zehrung

Dark ruby violet hue. Dark leather, seal wax, mint, and blackberries on the nose, followed by pleasant earthy nuances. Tightly woven tannins and elegant texture on the palate, sweeping heartily across the mid palate, finishing with lovely fresh tones and with minimal dryness.

Montefalco Rosso DOC 2019 – 92 points

Aufhellendes Dunkelrubin. In der nase nach roter Bete, Eisen, zeigt mit etwas Zeit im Glas schöne Noten nach Kirschen und Himbeeren. Am Gaumen mit schöner Süße und engem Tannin, spannt sich schön auf, mit kernig-salzigem Verlauf, tänzelt

Dark ruby color. Beet and iron to the nose, shows beautiful notes of cherry and raspberry. A nice sweetness and tight tannins on the palate, it stretches well, with a robust course.

Bright straw yellow with flint reflections. Initially fine stony notes on the nose, then crisp yellow fruit, some citrus, inviting. Slightly perceptible alcohol on the palate, well-integrated acidity, juicy, drinks very well.

Dark, bright ruby red. Aromas of wet wood, dark chocolate, some rum steeped fruit, plum and sealing wax on the nose. Juicy on the palate, with a beautiful core and savouriness, comes slowly but decisively from the glass, does not appear tired, good persistence.
