Also this year has come the period that lovers of Umbrian wines have been waiting for all year: Anteprima Sagrantino is revealed punctually in Montefalco (Umbria) in two days full of events, tastings, and programs dedicated to Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG.
Italian and international press and sector operators will be in the front row to participate in every aspect of this unique event: tastings in participating cellars, presentations of the new 2019 Sagrantino vintage, but… not only that! In fact, this year various innovations await the participants in the event, starting with an expansion of the wines in competition, to give the opportunity to exhibit the wine production of the Umbrian territories in its entirety.
The Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco which, like every year, organizes the event, increasingly wishes to promote the territory and the production of Montefalco and Spoleto at an international level, emphasizing the strong roots of the Umbrian winemaking tradition.
More than 40 wineries participating in the event will make their production of native wines available and will open the doors of their cellars to journalists and sector operators who have come to Montefalco for the initiative.

The 2023 edition of Anteprima Sagrantino will bring with it various innovations that we want to anticipate for you. In fact, every year this event dedicated to Umbrian wine improves more and more, bringing the high quality of local wine products to the Umbrian territory.
New wines for tasting
The wines that will participate in the 2023 tasting will be on the increase. In fact, in addition to Sagrantino, the absolute protagonist, other Umbrian denominations that are more than worthy of note can also be tasted. Among the Umbrian red wines we find the Montefalco Rosso DOC, but also various whites typical of the Umbrian territory.ro.
A new tasting criterion for competing wines
sually the wines presented during Anteprima Sagrantino are evaluated using the star system, well known in various sectors. Starting from the 2023 edition, a new method will be added which will include a vote expressed in cents. Part of this vote will also be taken over by a group of industry professionals who will complete the critics’ vote.

An old and new APParition
The Anteprima Sagrino app will once again be available to journalists and industry professionals to freely book visits and tastings in the cellars, as well as moving between them with the various means of transport.
The smartphone application has also undergone a restyling, resulting optimized compared to 2022, in a process of continuous improvement..
The Vinopolitan
Directly connected to the use of the App, Vinpolitana returns to the event after its success last year! Each winery will therefore display its “stop” outside its estate with the now already characteristic sign.
Needless perhaps to add that obviously we at Montioni will be at the forefront waiting for you at our Vinopolitana stop to accompany the public to one of the events we have reserved for this incredible event.

Accredited journalists and experts in the wine sector this year will be able to take part in our proposal “Montefalco Style – Convivial meeting with some characters from Montefalco’s agricultural life who have made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of Sagrantino”.
